PROOFREADING AND EDITING 

1.    Substantive/structural: includes reorganizing a document for content and structure.
Approximate Rate 1 – 2 pages per hour

2.    Stylistic: claryifing meaning, eliminating “jargon”, polishing language for readability flow, non-mechanical line by line editing.
Approximate Rate 2-3 pages per hour

3.    Copy Edit: grammar, usage, spelling, punctuation, mechanics of style, inserting “head levels”, edit tables, figures, lists.
Approximate Rate 3-4 pages per hour

4.    Proofreading: checking proofs of formatted edited material for adherence to design, spelling errors, small deviations from style sheet original.
Approximate Rate 4-6 pages per hour
                        
Approximate rates may vary depending on type of document and difficulty of text e.g. editing of a document with specialized terminology, or edits from unclear audio files. Any unusual deviation from approximate rate will be discussed with client prior to completion of work or invoicing.
